RIMS
Overview:
The Research Instrumentation Management System (RIMS) is a user, reservation, equipment, and billing system at University Park used primarly for materials, energy, and environment core facilities at University Park including the Materials Characterization Lab, the Nanofabrication Laboratory, under the Materials Research Institute, and Institutes of Energy and the Environment/Energy and Environmental Sustainability Laboratories (IEE/EESL). The facilities can perform research for you or you can become personally trained, for much of the instrumentation, to perform your own research. RIMS is the web-based platform used to manage these core facilities. Currently RIMS is managing on the order of 250 instruments in various lab locations.
