Animal Research Forms and Software
Overview:
The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is a standing committee at Penn State that oversees and evaluates all aspects of the University's animal care and use program. The Committee's composition and responsibilities regarding animal research are mandated by the Animal Welfare Act (Public Law 99-198).

The committee provides forms and software to assist with administrative functions related to animal research, including:
- CATS-IACUC Animal Care
- Penn State's Centralized Application Tracking System for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (CATS-IACUC) is used to submit and reference protocol information submitted to the IACUC for use of animals as subjects of research (policy RP04).

- OHACP Animal Care Form
- The Occupational Health Assessment for Animal Care Personnel (OHACP) is used by animal care personnel to enroll in Penn State’s Occupational Health and Safety Program to identify any health conditions that could be aggravated or worsened by exposure to animals through work, study or research conducted under the auspices of PSU; only individuals who come into direct contact with animals need to complete the OHACP form.

- PRAMS Animal Care
- The Protocol Review and Management System (PRAMS) is used to submit and reference protocol information submitted to the IACUC (policy RP04), IBC (policy RP11), and UIC (policy SY14) committees.
