Google Workspace for Education
Overview:
Google Workspace for Education is a cloud-based collection of applications licensed by the University to enhance teaching, learning, and research.
Penn State's Google Workspace for Education accounts include the following core set of apps:
- Google Drive*
- Docs
- Sheets
- Slides
- Forms
- Chat
- Meet
- Sites
- Jamboard
*Google Workspace for Education customers have a specific pooled (institution-wide) storage limit that has been significantly reduced by Google and will be reduced again in the future. Due to these changes, Penn State no longer recommends Google Drive for storage. Contact googleworkspace@psu.edu for more information.
Getting Started:
Penn State users may activate a Penn State Google Workspace for Education account (at no cost) rather than using their personal Gmail accounts. Simply log in to Google with your Penn State email address (e.g., abc123@psu.edu) and launch your Google Workspace for Education account. Eligibility:
- Penn State students, faculty, and staff members
- Retirees, Penn College of Technology, and Penn State Hershey personnel are not currently eligible for this service
